How Can I Protect Auto Updates With Username/Password on My Web Server?
You may find that you want to protect your auto update files on your web server with a username or password. The framework allows you to set a username and password on a per build profile basis. The framework currently supports basic, digest and NTLM (on Windows) authentication.
Set the Base Auto Update URL 2
If you haven't already, specify the base auto update url (1) for the -- Global -- Build Profile (2) in the Build Profiles tab (3).
The Build Profile Tab
You can customize settings for individual builds on the Build Profile tab. From the Build Profile tab select the build profile you want to set the username and password for. You can use the -- Global -- build profile to set default settings for all build profiles.
Set the Username and Password
Enter the username and password that your server requires to access files in the directory where your auto update files will be located. When your application checks for updates the username and password will be used to authenticate with the server.
